Strategic Buyer - Aftermarket & MRO (m/f/d)
Grob Aircraft looks back on more than 55 years of experience in composite aircraft manufacturing and ranks among the global technology leaders in this segment. With over 3,500 delivered aircraft and around 360 team members, we are one of the leading providers of training aircraft for civil and military applications.
Our flagship platforms G 120TP and G 115 are trusted worldwide by air forces, naval aviation schools and flight academies on every continent.
Your Mission
As Strategic Buyer Aftermarket & MRO, you own the sourcing of all spare parts, repair kits, consumables, tooling and technical supplies that Grob Aircraft, as the OEM, delivers into our customers' fleets and their MRO operations worldwide. You make sure our customers can keep their Grob aircraft flying reliably, anywhere, anytime. You are the interface between our supplier base, customer support, engineering, production and quality, and a key enabler of fleet availability, aftersales performance and customer satisfaction.
Your key responsibilities:
Design and execution of sourcing strategies for OEM spare parts, repair kits, consumables, tooling, GSE and technical supplies supporting the global Grob Aircraft fleet, with a clear focus on cost, availability and on-time delivery (OTD)
Global market intelligence: analysis of aerospace aftermarket supply markets, supplier scouting, qualification and development on a national and international level
Lead contract and pricing negotiations with OEM sub-suppliers, manufacturers and specialised aerospace distributors
Closing of framework agreements, long-term agreements (LTAs) and stocking/consignment models with balanced cost, quality and delivery performance to secure customer demand
Cross-functional collaboration with customer support, spare parts management, engineering, production and quality assurance to secure supply along the entire aftersales value chain, including AOG response
Cost analysis, should-cost modelling, demand forecasting and identification of savings potentials across the aftermarket portfolio
Active obsolescence and lifecycle management to safeguard long-term supply for fleets in service
Tracking of market, regulatory and technology trends to further develop our long-term aftermarket and MRO procurement strategy
Lead cross-functional projects in supply chain optimization, standardisation and process excellence
Your Profile
Background:
Completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management or a comparable field
Several years of hands-on experience in strategic procurement of spare parts, aftermarket or MRO categories, ideally in the aerospace and defence industry, OEM aftersales or aviation environment (automotive Tier-1 with defence affinity is also welcome)
Hard Skills:
Deep knowledge in contract management, negotiation and aerospace certification (EASA Part 21 / Part 145 is a plus)
Solid understanding of OEM spare parts business, aftersales supply chains, AOG handling and airworthiness requirements
Confident handling of SAP (MM, SD); experience with SAP S/4HANA is a clear plus
Familiarity with aviation BOM structures, obsolescence management and lifecycle support is a bonus
Strong analytical skills, data-driven mindset and a sharp negotiation skill-set
Languages:
Fluent German and English (C1 minimum); both are non-negotiable in our international setup
Mindset:
Team player with an ownership mentality and the ability to work cross-functionally
Hands-on, get-stuff-done: we build aircraft, not PowerPoints
