Design Engineer – Mission Systems (m/f/x)
Join our Mission Systems Engineering team and shape the mechanical integration of mission equipment into our special mission aircraft. You will design brackets, fixtures, adapters and structural modifications for the integration of sensors, pods and subsystems – with a strong focus on the CA-1 Europa program and our Mission Pod developments.
Key Responsibilities
3D design of brackets, fixtures, adapters and structural parts for mission system integration
Mechanical integration of mission equipment, sensors and pods into the aircraft
Design and development of Mission Pods including carrier systems and aircraft interfaces
Modifications to existing aircraft structures to accommodate new mission equipment
Creation of 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings using Siemens NX
Preparation of technical documentation, specifications, BOMs and change documentation
Close cooperation with Stress, Systems Engineering, Certification, Production and QA
Support in material selection and manufacturing methods with focus on lightweight design
Support of prototyping, testing and First Article Inspection
Qualifications
Technical training (e.g. certified technician) or university degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
Experience in design engineering, ideally in aviation, defense or lightweight construction
Confident use of CAD software, especially Siemens NX
Knowledge of aviation standards (e.g. EASA CS-23, AS9100) is a plus
Experience with composite (CFRP/GFRP) and/or aluminum structures is a plus
Strong technical understanding and creative problem-solving skills
Good command of English; German is a plus
