Technical Writer / Technical Author - Aircraft Manuals (m/f/d)
Grob Aircraft SE is one of the world's leading manufacturers of training and special mission aircraft, flown by air forces, flight schools and operators in more than 30 countries. As an EASA-approved Design, Production and Maintenance Organisation (Part 21J / 21G / Part 145), we develop, build and support CS-23 certified aircraft, including the G 120TP and the G 115 family as well as the newly announced CA-1 Europa
To grow our Technical Publications team, we are hiring a Technical Writer / Technical Author (m/f/d) for our aircraft manuals.
Your Role
You create and maintain the technical documentation that keeps our aircraft flying safely worldwide. Working closely with Engineering, Airworthiness, Production and Customer Support, you turn complex technical content into clear, standards-compliant manuals for pilots and maintainers.
Your Responsibilities
Draft and update aircraft manuals such as AFM, AMM and IPC.
Support the preparation of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), including updates from design changes and Service Bulletins.
Revise documentation following modifications, conversions and customer change requests.
Prepare technical drawings, illustrations and source documents for publication.
Coordinate with internal departments and our external technical publications supplier.
Procure required data and information across Engineering, Production and Customer Support.
Support internal and external technical inquiries on documentation.
Your Profile
We are open to candidates from different backgrounds. You may come from aerospace, defence, mechanical engineering, automotive, rail, or another regulated technical industry, as long as you enjoy turning engineering content into structured documentation.
You bring most of the following:
A degree or vocational qualification in technical communication, aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a comparable field. Part 66 license holders with documentation experience are also welcome.
Experience in technical writing, technical authoring or technical documentation, ideally for complex products.
Aviation experience is a strong plus, but not a must. We will support you in growing into the regulatory environment (CS-23, Part 21, Part 145).
Familiarity with one or more of the following is an advantage: S1000D, ATA iSpec 2200, ASD-STE100 (Simplified Technical English), DITA, editorial / CCMS systems (e.g. Schema ST4, Arbortext, Cortona3D), Adobe FrameMaker, CAD viewers.
Structured, accurate working style and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
Good English skills (working language for technical publications). German is a strong plus; if you don't speak it yet, we will support you in learning.
